For over 30 years, Pioneer Physicians Network, Inc. has served patients and families across the greater Akron–Canton region with compassionate, physician-led care close to home.

Today our network has over 50 board-certified primary care providers with specialties of Family Practice, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine. We are proud to be one of the largest primary care independent physician networks in Northeast Ohio.

We’ve never lost sight of what independent practice is really about: knowing your patients, knowing your community, and showing up for both. That commitment doesn’t stop at the clinic door.

Pioneer Physicians Network is a network of independent physician practices located in the Greater Akron-Canton area. We are a network linked to a central shared business office offering access to a range of network-operated medical services.

As a physician-owned and physician-led organization, our providers’ promise is to serve our community with cutting-edge medical initiatives and superior medical staff and services. Now and in the future, Pioneer will continue to invest in the services that our patients need, while attracting respected physicians from throughout the region.

Community Commitment

Caring for our community, beyond the clinic

Our team, including physicians, medical assistants, front office staff, and administrators, shows up for Northeast Ohio the same way they show up for patients: consistently, personally, and with genuine care. Each year our Community Involvement Committee organizes initiatives that span health, housing, mental wellness, and the everyday needs of our neighbors.

Free and charitable clinics

Pioneer physicians volunteer at Faithful Servants Care Center in Tallmadge and Wadsworth, providing care to uninsured patients at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Several of our own physicians are regularly on staff, making this one of our most personal ongoing commitments.

Hands-on volunteering

Our team shows up where the work is. From serving lunch at Haven of Rest to supporting survivors at Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center, our staff volunteers time, energy, and presence.

Community drives and collections

Our offices rally around local needs, collecting pet food and essentials for Paws and Prayers Pet Rescue, and packing school supplies for students through Love the Children Ministries.

Race and walk sponsorships

We sponsor and participate in 5Ks and walks that matter to our community, including Kylie’s Rose Run 5K, the American Heart Association Heart Walk, and walks benefiting the Down Syndrome of Northeast Ohio and Portage Path Behavioral Health.

Children and families

From building beds with Woodworkers with Heart to granting wishes through Wishes Can Happen to wrapping holiday gifts at Akron Rotary Camp, our team shows up for kids and families across Northeast Ohio throughout the year.

Foundation partnerships

We proudly support the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation, Mary Grace Foundation, and the HELMS Foundation.
